Houston Veterinary Diagnostics
In-House Diagnostic Testing for Fast Results
When your pet is hurt or sick, they can’t tell us what’s wrong. The Houston veterinary team at Bellaire-Richmond Pet Hospital relies on the latest in diagnostic testing to help understand what’s ailing your pet. We use a variety of tools to quickly diagnose and treat, limiting the amount of time your pet has to suffer.
We also use our in-house diagnostic tools to monitor your pet’s normal health as part of our preventative medicine program. We use diagnostic testing to help establish a baseline of health for your pet during your pet’s regular wellness exams. With a full history on file, we’ll be able to use results of these baseline tests to compare against new tests when your pet is feeling under the weather. This will help us identify changes more quickly than if we were starting from scratch.

At Bellaire-Richmond Pet Hospital, we’re pleased to offer the latest diagnostic technologies to help us diagnose and treat your pet. Having these tools in-house enables us to help your pet more quickly than if we had to refer them out to another veterinary hospital.
We offer the following diagnostic capabilities:
- In-house laboratory testing
- Digital radiographs
- On-call ultrasounds
All of our in-house diagnostic services are provided by a compassionate member of our veterinary team. You can be sure that your pet will be treated with the utmost care and respect while we investigate their ailments.
Bellaire-Richmond Pet Hospital’s in-house laboratory enables us to run dozens of tests on site without delay. This helps us quickly understand what is bothering your pet when they’re sick as well as what is normal for your pet.
We have access to specialists across a variety of areas, including:
- Clinical chemistry
- Electron microscopy
- Molecular diagnostics
This wide range of capabilities enables us to diagnose nearly any ailment your pet may be suffering from.
Radiological imaging, which includes x-rays and ultrasounds, is an important tool for the team at Bellaire-Richmond Pet Hospital. Both x-rays and ultrasounds are pain-free and non-invasive, which means we get a closer look at what’s going on under your pet’s fur without major surgery. We use x-rays to take images of the solid or dense tissues in your pet’s body, such as bone and muscles. Ultrasounds are used for soft tissues (like organs) and monitoring pregnancies. Both of these types of radiographs are essential tools that help us diagnose injuries, unusual growths, and other ailments. Our Houston veterinarians examine these images in real time, helping us get your pet treated faster.
